meeting date: 31 may 2005
attending: Todd Westerhoff, Mike LaBonte, Arpad Muranyi, Ken Willis, Donald Telian, Barry Katz

We decided the title for the DAC presentation:
"IBIS 4.1 Macros for Simulator Independent Models"

Todd: Synopsys guy hinted HSPICE is not proprietary

We looked at files supplied by Arpad:
- Arpad created a pre-emphasis driver in IBIS, Spice, and VerilogA.
  - Spreadsheet shows good simulation correlation

DAC presentation
- We will:
  - Say why we're doing this: Will speed adoption of AMS
  - Show what we have
    - Introduce library elements (building blocks)
    - Schematic of pre-emphasis driver
    - Test simulation results
  - Propose building the library
    - Who will write the library?
    - Concern over letting too many people into it
    - Who will oppose it? VHDL proponents, ie. Mentor?
    - Need a real resource, not part time
    - Target having a library ready by Sep
- We have to justify our choice of VerilogAMS
  - HSPICE simulates it
  - Easier to read
  - Close to SPICE
- Time slot is 30 minutes
- Files will be on the web for those interested in details

- Arpad: still playing with Cadence AMS Designer
  - Lesson: compiling without error does not mean it works

AR: Arpad and Todd to work on presentation

AR: Mike to add comments to code

Farewell and good luck to Donald Telian (his last meeting)
